John is an Intelligent Transport Systems specialist and experienced project manager specialising in intelligent mobility and driverless vehicle projects. He has experience in delivering business cases, strategies and requirements for a wide range of technology applications having worked with operators, system suppliers and local and national government.

He works at Transport for West Midlands as part of the Innovation team looking at how technologies such as driverless cars, 5G, MaaS can be applied in the region and integrated into business as usual for our constituent authorities.

He previously worked at the Driverless Vehicles Startup, Conigital, where his work included the delivery of the Innovate UK Funded Connected and Autonomous Vehicle projects: Insight, Syngery and Capri. He was also an active part of the team growing the smart mobility business looking to develop commercial projects and was responsible for leading bids and winning work.

Within the industry, he is an active member of ITS UK and is one of the Vice Chairs of the ITS UK Mobility as a Service (MaaS) interest group.

Within his previous role for AECOM, he managed numerous technology projects for local authorities in the UK covering highways and public transport schemes. He has also worked internationally on multi-million pound projects in Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Dublin.
