Sergio Fernández Balaguer, Project Manager

I have developed my entire professional career in the fields of environmental and sustainable development matters.

Until 2008, at Garrigues Medio Ambiente (former Garrigues-Andersen) I participated in a wide range of environmental management and sustainable development plans, implementation of environmental management systems conforming to ISO 14001 and the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), environmental audits and risks on industrial activities, environmental reports in renewable energy project finance and due diligence, corporate responsibility reports,strategic environmental evaluations, studies on polluted soils, natural resource plans and environmental restoration projects, environmental impact assessments, and sustainability indicators (DJSI, FTSE4Good, etc.), among others.

In 2008 I joined Madrid City Council (Fundación Movilidad) specializing myself in sustainable urban mobility issues, with special emphasis on electric mobility, mobility gobernance and european projects.

I currently works for Madrid Public Transportat Company (EMT) at the Communication and Consultancy Directorate being in charge of the Research and Innovation Projects Department managing a wide range of European projects, and an active participation at different European and International mobility and transport networks, representing both EMT and the city of Madrid.

I have been lecturer on several environmental courses on Polytechnic University of Madrid and the author of several articles on issues relating to the environment and sustainable development. I have collaborated five years in environmental radio programs on Spanish Public Radio Station and also at Madrid City Council radio station.
